My father has a has a 6mm x.284 that he built on a Mauser 98 action. He is not sure what rifle this action originated on since he built it probably 30 years ago. I don't know much about Mauser actions, but I'm sure some of you know off the top of your head. Just wondering where this action got it's start and how it differs from other Mauser actions. Thanks.

Interesting. I have a Mauser actiuoned 6mmx.284 myself. Mine is an Argentine 1909 action. Look on it for any words and such those can give us a better clue as to what yours is.

Actually the 03 Springfield is a mix of 93 Mauser and
Krag. There is nothing of the 98 in it. Gun "Writers" have been getting it wrong for years.
Good Luck!

Thanks for your reply, The next time I'm over that way I'll take some pictures of it to if we can figure out which variation it is. It's a beautiful rifle. I'll probably need to email them to one of you, since I've never posted a picture before, or I guess I could just learn how to do it. Thanks again.
