I'm refinishing a stock and I'm debating on recoil pad colors. The stock itself is a dark brown walnut which I have accented with a redwood burl forend and grip cap. I don't want a black recoil pad, so I'm debating between brown and red. I really want to use a red pad, but I feel that might be a little over the top with the redwood forend and grip cap. What would your guys' choice be; brown or red? ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

Red pachmyer deluxe ventilated or a brown decelerator(leather look) would be my votes. PA Bear Hunter, NRA Benefactor

I'd go red. To me, brown pads sometimes wind up "getting lost" in the wood. But maybe that's what you want. I work with a lot of redwood and I really doubt that after it's finished, it will be anywhere close to the redness of the pad.

Go for the red. I like the London Guns or Silvers red pads myself.
