I have a 1903A3 with the straight stock. Can you put a 1903 pistol grip stock on this model?

What's involved in changing it out?

Thanks,
Dave

Absolutely you can do it. There may require a very small amount of inletting since most of the C stocks were made for the 1903-A1. The 1903-A4 sniper rifles were 1903A3's put in a C stock. What ever you do, hang on to the old stock. Boyd's makes replica C stock.

Yes you can, but it pays to have deep pockets especially if you want an original military one which I assume you are referring to. It should be a pretty much straight forward exchange if you can find one that you feel you want to spend the money on. Collectors of Springfields have driven the prices for these Springfield parts out of sight.

I don't care about it being an original. I would just as soon have a new replica, with good wood.
