Does this action look like it was a G.33/40 before it was modified?

Not a G.33/40. There are no lightning cuts under the receiver.

It looks a nice job though.

Given the "longish" front ring and the nice "pad" on top, I am going to venture out and make a guess at a nicely done 1909 Peruvian...large ring to begin with, then since it has small threads, they are often trimmed down like this one, leaving the lug recess at full depth under the "pad"...and yes, it does look nice...maybe the seller has more information???? That is very nice square bridge and bolt handle work!

In looking at the photos again, I notice that the rear clip slots-ejector wing-has only been cut down a little....One of the outstanding parts of the original 1909 (and 1935) Peruvian is the high, beautifully done wing-clip slot combination...it looks like the nice square bridge butts up against it, with part only cut away...and you are most correct, it is a wonderful bolt handle!!! I wonder who put it together (and are they still in business!!!, since I have one each of the 1909 and 1935's) Arthur

Definately not!. As Forrest has alreadysaid NO LIGHTENING CUTS in receiver between the front ring & rear bridge.
It is first class work though.

I aquired this action from a dear friend and hunting partner who passed
away. His wife asked me to dispose of his firearms, which I did and she
gave me this action which I admired. I remember speaking with my friend
about this action during the process of having it done, and him
mentioning that it was a gunsmith friend of his when he lived in Idaho.

The square bridge is welded not soldered, and I believe it is a 98
large ring that has been sculptured smaller, the bolt face will
accommodate a 30-06 size cartridge. The workmanship is flawless.

It really does look nice, but I'd want to look it over and have it checked it out before shelling out $1,000+ for the action.

That is a very nice bolt handle, looks like the corners are rounded to much for my liking, mby be the pic, buts it is a very nice sq bridge whatever it is.
