Fellows, I just picked up a pre 64 Model 94 Winchester in 32 Special. The rifle came with a Paul Jaeger quick release side mount and a 2.5 Weaver scope. Not that I need or want to change anything, but how do the rings come off the scope? They appear to be a solid ring with only one split. I can't see any fine lines as if they were two pieces. Please don't tell me they spread it enough to get around the scope. Thanks

Many of the old scopes were simply taken apart and the rings slipped on. They were not sealed like they are now. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, thanks.

The scope was disassembled and put into the rings. I had this done a couple of year ago with a G&H or Jaeger mount and a vintage Weaver. I sent it to Weaver Repair Service in Texas, and they "mounted" the scope for me. Kudude
