Had accuracy problems with.308 84M sent it back to Kimber. They had it back in 2 weeks, said they had to re-chamfer it. What does that mean, recrown barrel or rework the chamber? Target was in the box w/ two three shot .75 groups one load was 165 grain hornady other was 168 grain matchking. I'll get scope back on go to range in a day or two. I'll get back with ya'll and give a report. Rechamfer what???? Straight shootin to ya

I took out one of my gunsmithing books this evening to look up what chamfering is. Basically, after the chamber is completely reamed out, and while the barrel is still on the lathe, the smith will take some sort of a small sharp tool and apply it at an angle to the metal that is surrounding the chamber. A very very light cut is made. It is called chamfering. I imaging its done so that there isn't such a sharp surface for the cartridge to ride over while going into the chamber. Its only a guess on my part, but Perhaps there was some sort of abnormality in the metal surrounding the end of your chamber such that it placed undue pressure on one side of your cartridges, thereby causing poor accuracy.

Thanks,I could not figure it out. Only had an idea they were cleaning up something. Do have good news though .25 three shot group with 150gr. federal premium ballistic tips that was smallest nothing over .75 yet haven't shot enough to get an average just sighting in scope. After season i'll try some xxx shocks and see how they do not a big fan of BTS but they shoot really well in my rifle and my brother's as well. We plan on reloading for these two .308's so we can get a better selection of what we want to shoot. Thanks again and everyone have a safe season. Straight shootin to ya
