BobsterOver time with recoil the the cutout in the plunger body can develop a slight burr where it contacts the cross pin. It may only be visible under magnification. This burr can and does retard/seize the ejector. Inspect this and stone/polish away if found. Powder residue can infiltrate the ejector mortise too making it sluggish. Also check the spring. They can weaken. It should take moderate force to push a case against the ejector.
If it ever sticks and won't spring out soak ejector with Marvel Mystery Oil while gently heating with a propane torch. Let this cool and then heat again until the oil starts to bubble. Remove the cross pin. Point bolt head into a towel. The ejector will usually be propelled out by pressure.

p dog shooterThe most common is dirt and rust. I always clean and oil.
Burrs next.
Could have been when you took it apart the problem went some place.
It is really a simple item.
