Can an old junker M700 BDL stock be used on a M700 DM? I know it would need those two notches. Would the rest fit? Or could it be made to fit with a little glass bedding compound? Not to worried about looks only function. As usual just my $.02 Paul K | ||

It'd be a good bet. Not sure but the likelyhood is very good. If you can make the modifications go for it.....worst thing is you might learn something. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." For what it's worth Remington hasn't changed the screw locations in the Rem700 since they introduced the rifle in 1962.... So will another stock mount to the action? Yup. As for making the stock "fit" by homebrewing the inletting for the DM? that depends greatly on your skills you need to remove material from the stock to allow the DM trigger guard to mount.
