I want to install a breako type recoil reducer in a Browning A-Bolt with a synthetic stock.
how would you hold the reducer in place, in the stock it has a large hollow space so I don't need to remove any materal, just hold the reducer firmly.
Thanks, Bill

I would check with the company that makes the reducer first to see what they recommend.

I would think that polyurathane foam would be the easiest and wouldn’t add any measurable weight. You can usually buy this in cans at a good hardware store. It expands RAPIDLY when sprayed so you might want to do a test first to determine how much to use. Mask the hell out of your stock to avoid runoff.. then just bore a hole in after it sets to accept your recoil tube and glue the tube in place.

BGHunter,

Just be sure to really read the instructions with the foam. The stuff gets warm (some might even say hot) when curing, and it sets up pretty fast.

Do some tests first so you know what it does and doesn’t do and you should be fine.

I know McMillan uses some type of foam to fill the butt stocks on their’s but I’m not sure exactly what it is.
