Which 3 position safety is preferred for a custom Mauser? After trying both the Dakota seems louder but I would guess a smith could fix that. Which safety is considered better?

I have actually touched neither, so I know nothing of quality. However, the Dakota looks much sexier. My opinion.

I've had the PME safety put on and it's nice. The one I have has the lever case hardened and the rest rust blued. It's relatively quiet and has positive stops.

I agree with Redleg, Jim Wisener's safeties are well made, but they all do the job. I just prefer his components.

Is the PME the different than the Gentry or are they the same part sold under different names?
