I have a barrel that i would like to put a banded sling swivel on. Only problem is I was hoping that I don't have to take off the front sight. So I was wondering if anyone knew of something that would more or less clamp on to the barrel. I thought I saw something like that once.

The rifle is just an old beater so I don't want to invest a lot of cash into this project. Just want something simple that works.

Something like this. I think they used to make them for other tube magazines but now they have only a full band for the 30-30's.

You could take one of the currently offered ones and cut just less than half of it off. It would then snap over the barrel and be soldered on. Did that on a 416 rigby and it is still there.
