Re: Friends AYA #2 SXS Shotgun
I need to know difficulty level and the how-to of diabling the auto-saftey function of the action. I do Not want to diable the safety, just it automatically being reset. Thank you guys,

The auto safety works off the top break lever. Take it apart and see how it is and remove the part that pushes the safety when the top break lever is actuated.

Thank you JBelk. That was my assumption and I have not seen it yet. He has removed the buttstock and sideplates and says it is more complex than that. Like I said I have not seen it yet, I was just wanting to find out from someone who has been into one if it is that simple. I'll see it tomorrow

If it has sideplates I'd just about bet there's a rod that runs forward from the trigger plate to the back of the locking block. It probably acts on a linkage that's between the triggers and the safety button itself.....something like a M-21 Winchester and Parker Bros.

The LC Smith system is more common. It has a little sliver of metal that rides in a slot in the stock and fits between the safety button and a lug on the top break lever.

Whatever it is, it's on easy part to find. Push the safety off and opererate the top break lever with the stock off and see what moves the safety button. [Smile]
