I heard that Blazer has such an item for European sales but it's pricey. Word has it that MacMillian used to make a "Fibregrain". Don't know why they still don't as I want something like that. I don't see what with the technology today why we can't have wood grain in a synthetic stock. About 50 years ago I had a Stevens SS 20 ga with a plastic stock that had brown swirls in it. That may have been ABS.

I think ram-line made a woodgrain stock. It was sold by cabelas. A friend had a black one on a 300 and I thought it was pretty cheesy. Hard plastic and hollow sounding.

I have several of the Fibergrains and think they are a nice option for the "purist". A guy can find them floating around every now and then,if he keeps his nose in the wind................

So what's going on? There must be a demand for such a stock! Did the Fibregrain fail in some way or was it too expensive? I know some like the black rifles or painted stocks but not me. I want a choice. I am having a stock made by Acrabond. It's a matter of taste and I like wood grain. Big Stick, Could you please post a picture of one of those Fibregrains?

Don, Am headed out with my oldest boy,for a day's Hunt. He is wanting to blood his new 25-284 and 7SAUM today. With 4 Deer tags and 2 Bear tags,I'm thinking he'll have an opportunity to shoot both rifles. Will get home early enough to watch the DeLaHoya fight, swill beer while doing so and graze on pizza. Long way of saying,I can flip you some pictures, but it will be late evening at best.............

Stick, Sounds like a full day and a lot of fun. Maybe some other time on the pics. If he does bag something there is the cleaning and all to do. Enjoy yourself and we can get back to this out of season or whenever.

Mike I bought a used rifle a couple of years ago that has a wood grain fiberglass stock on it. I was curious to find out who made the stock, so I posted the question on another forum. Here is a link to it that may help you out.. http://www.huntamerica.com/wwwthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB8&Number=145415&Forum=UBB8&Words=identify&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=1&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=144775&Sear ch=true#Post145415

Hey Mike! What about one of those walnut laminated stocks? Some of the pictures are stunning. The guy that makes them posts here. Mel Smart or something? I think his brand is Accrabond? Others will know what I am talking about if you are interested. Hope this helps. Jamie
