Please help!!!! I've just picked up a Winchester Model 1905, and I'm trying to disassemble it for a thorough cleaning. I'm doing okay, but I can't figure out how to remove the bolt from the receiver. The bolt guide rod is slotted for a screw driver, but turning it doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone explain how to remove the bolt? Much obliged, SAB

As I recall (I have one but it's been a while since I tore it down) you follow the instructions for stripping a model 03 or model 63 (both 22LR) or the model 07. They are all the same design.

Tailgunner: Thanks for the heads up. Only trouble is - I'm not familiar with the 03, 07, or 63, and I just searched Google to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction, please? Thanks, SAB

UPDATE: I was able to remove the guide rod - I turned and turned, but I never tried pulling it out very hard. It's piloted, which makes it still feel tight even when it is loose! Once I pulled on it enough, it popped right out. Thanks for reading, SAB
