I'm having a Ruger 77 SA rebarrelled to .358 win. all commercian rifles used a 1-12 twist but the shilen bbl I wanted used a 1-4. I asked shilen and they said a 1-14 stabalized .358 bullets better but I'm not sure as I never had any accuracy prob. with the others and I've owned almost every commercial .358 win made. Anyway the gunsmith went with a shilen 1-14 hope I didn't make a mistake. What do you think ?

358---

I have a stock M-77RS and just checked it....1-14.

My Whelen is 1-14 and it stabalizes everything I've shot, up to 300 grains. I've built half a dozen 35 Whelens, the same number of 358 Norma Mags and several 358 Winchesters. One in fourteen is all I've ever used.

Hey'
I once owned a Ruger 77 in .358.They only made about 500 of these.It was a 1-14 twist.It was the last Ruger I had.Firing pin failure,cost me a nice buck.
