leaving me alone to my own "devise" or is it demise I'll figure it out. That is what that little screw does Big Grin now for a small tiny darn punch. Still need a replacement lever.

If the striker assembly is still in the bolt, put the bolt back in the rifle and close it. While it is cocked, place the safety lever in the center position, remove the bolt from the rifle, press the little detent button on the left side and unscrew the striker assembly from the the bolt body.

When the whole striker assembly is removed from the bolt, you can hold onto the bolt sleeve, push the safety lever to the fire position, that takes off some of the tension from the firing pin spring. Notice, I said some of the tension.

The collar that retains the firing pin spring to the striker assembly has to be pulled back toward the cocking piece and rotated 90 deg. and slowly allow the spring tension to push the collar toward the front of the firing pin. This is actually impossible unless you have four hands or you clamp the first inch of the firing pin in the soft jaws of a vise, being careful not to put any lateral pressure to it in the process as it will bend or break. There is also a tool, somewhere, that will aid doing this.

After you have the firing pin spring removed, the small screw on the bolt flange can be removed and the cocking piece will easily come of the firing pin. You can then remove the safety lever by tapping out the pin and pulling the lever up. I think there may be a spring and/or ball bearing in there too.

Have fun!

that sounded like a fair piece of instructions-have it apart already. Called Jim up and asked why I need to send it in. His website has the part in red and is noted for fitting. He has to make certain all is setup properly, it is not just like changing out a lever. I was hoping for an easy fix. Such is the way.

thanks Masterifleman!

I used my hands to load the striker spring and twist that collar off 90 degrees-Gods gift!Smiler
