Has anybody here heard or know anything about Wind River brand barrels? Good bad?

ElCaballeroIf I ever get my 300 H&H done I can answer you. So far no complaints from the smith. It is getting a chunk of English put on it now.
NO the barrel is not bent.

Wildlife ArtistElCaballero Thanks for replying
How did you find out about these barrels? Do you know somebody that has and shoots them?
I looks fantastic! I hope you will show it to us when you get it finished.
Can you tell me what sights you have in it and where you got them?

Wildlife ArtistElCaballero does your barrel go from octagon to round?
It looks great.
I have seen some old classic rifles with that same profile.
ElCaballero,
I was envisioning the same thing, in either 8x57 or 375 H&H, for a Mauser action I have. Is that the heavy profile they sell? Good to know that there is enough metal on there to turn it round, that's what I was wondering.
To complete it, I was planning on a Talley barrel band, and an NECG Masterpiece banded front site. Maybe a short quarter rib with rear sights, vs. the island such as you have?
Very, very nice looking barrelled action - congrats.

ElCaballeroI stumbled upon this one on Ebay. Wind River sells a few on there once in awhile. It was $150 I think. I bought it about 2 years ago. Yes this project is taking long time. Don't ask.
Here is one they have on Ebay right now.
Wind River also sells a half round barrel. I had this one turned by a local smith. I would recommend just buying them already turned.
I don't know anymore about them that that. I think Brownell's is selling barrels for made by them. They may have some customer feedback.
I originally planned on a quarter rib. I had an NECG sight setting around so the smith did this to it...
You can read more about this barreled action in this
thread.

gzig5The last time I looked, Midway carried Wind River Barrels in a few calibers for $255.
