Well said - I never got into a pissing match with AC but lately I have noticed so much BS out of his mouth - "I know all and you are mear earthlings" type of attitude - you would think a guy who has built it all, shot it all, and knows steel and metallurgy better than someone who is doing it would own Remmington, Ruger, or Winchester by now, not showing pics of him in a tshirt, drinking in his basement.

Are all receivers going to have the square bridges or just the safari models? Will the long action accommodate the H&H class cartridges? Also when is the target date for release?

Thanks again,

Terry

Hey Matt, When are we going to see some of these actions and what is the target price for one?

Thanks,
Terry

Hey Matt, You might have missed this the 1st time around.

Terry

Sorry Terry, I did manage to miss that comment somehow

Our first receivers will be short-actions that will drop into the Model 70 stocks, and be available for 308 class cartridges, as well as the WSM line of cartridges. Those actions will be priced at $975.00 retail.
Long actions that will drop in the Model 70 stocks for the 30-06 class, as well as 300 win mag will be $985.00 retail.
Our Safari actions will be $1,015.00 for Rigby, Gibbs, etc. type cartridges. These will require custom stocks, but we will be providing all the inletting info to all the major stockmakers, and to whomever requests the information for their own desired stockmakers.
The compact action will be for the .223 class cartridges and will be priced $995.00 retail with the same needs as the Safari action for custom stocks.

All actions will be available in 4140 steel, or 416 stainless, in both right and left-handed versions. Prices for stainless or left-hand will be the same as the 4140 steel right hand versions.

All the receivers will have the option of either the square bridge, talley, or picatinny-style bases.
The long action will accomodate the H&H cartridges.

I'm a little hesitant about releasing the actual date for these receivers, due to my everchanging schedule that USRAC has been recently placing on us, but our prototype is expected to be ready for testing before Christmas, if every thing goes well. At this time we're running about 45 days off schedule from what I'd planned in February, and that number seems to concidently grow every day

Hopefully, week after next will lend itself to some more work towards our actions, as well as getting some new equipment on the floor.

Matt,

Nice indicator!

Hey, since you are machining these out of billet, if I send you a bar of SAE1340 would you machine mine out of that instead of the SAE4140 stuff?

You got me too, I will stop reading crap on the internet and pretending to know something about machining.

Thanks,

I am just curious. I know a little bit about manual machining but not much about all of this newfangled stuff. I don't recall a dial indicator that measures to .00005.
Is that hundred thousands? Anyway, what is used to make such small measurements!!!

Finally found a place to host this damn thing after some nice help from some of the folks on the forum.

Great Matt,
The next time that I'm flush I'll come over and buy some metal work. At the same time you now have an instrument that can measure the true depth of my feelings of affection for John Kerry, the DNC, and feral cats.

I've never machined anything. I'm also a beginner at woodworking.........

This was only my 3rd rifle project. I was smart enough to use Williams bottom metal on this rifle though..........DJ
