I'm sure I've seen in a discussion somewhere that Recknagel or NECG or someone does pre-fit iron sights for some of the pre-finished Walther M98 barrels...

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I don't know about that but I just measure the OD of where you want the front band to be and the rear sight to sit,(barrel makers will tell you that) and the sight makers have that info so you select the right ones.
