I am going to do some muzzle brake reaming and need to find some cutting oil. This link http://www.reamerrentals.com/policypage.htm lists two products, and where to get them. However, I can't locate them. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The Rustlic 600 is available thru MSC. They can be reached both online and by phone. Very good people to do business with, very prompt shipping. I'm not familiar with the other oil.

Just a thought, the Rustlic is mostly used in a "flush" system, not brush applied. If using a brush apply method, I think I would opt for a thicker cutting oil.

I think the other oil they're refering to is Blaser Swisslube - It too, is for a flood application. I can't figure out for the life of me why they recommended these two cutting fluids... Personally, I'm fond of Tap Magic cut 50/50 with sulfurized cutting oil. It really sticks to the tool which is what you want in a brush on application

For the last ten years or so I have been using "Rigid Tool Company" "Dark- Premium thread cutting oil" for all my chamber reaming in both chrome moly and stainless barrels. About five or six years ago I talked this over with Dave Kiff at PT&G and he felt that this oil was top notch. This oil is available from any Rigid Tool distributor and comes in 5 gallon pails for about $55 or $60. I remember one time I was trying to find rustlik and was told I had to buy a 55 gallon drum. Dave Kiff felt that Rustlik wasn't the best for chambering applications anyway and told me to stay with the "Dark" I took his advice.

The man who got me started in gunsmithing (Art Bourne of Kamloops) used Rigid oil and I have continued to do the same since that time (late seventies). I don't think there is anything better. Regards, Bill.
