Shortening a Tikka T3?

I am wondering if a T3 lite stainless can be shortened. Here is the kicker the length of pull needs to be around 11 1/2". If it is able to be done, is it an easy fix? Also if this will lighten the gun substantially would shortening a T3 laminated to 11 1/2" drop the weight down to around 6 1/2lbs?

I should note too that I would like to fit a limbsaver recoil pad, or something similar.

Easy to fix - glue and screw on what you have cut off and apart
from the line of the join, yes.

Will it drop the wight down to 6 1/2 lbs. Just.

Their are other ways of lightening the stock than cutting off the butt
or do you need the LOP TO BE 11 1/2" ?

PM sent.

Yes LOP needs to be around 11 1/2" The gun is for my girlfriend she is a bit short 4' 11".

I don't want the gun too light - recoil
I don't want the gun too heavy - backpack hunting

Cheers

The walnut stock is lighter and easy to cut.

Really, I never even looked at the walnut I assumed it would be too heavy.
