Where are they located? I started to catolog my rifles today and can't seem to find the SSN for this one. The gun was built in 1956 and it's a late import. Did it not need a serial# ? Terry -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

The ZG/47 serial number is on the barrel......nothing on action. If it'd been rebarrelled then the serial number has been lost.

Serial numbers are on top of barrel shank just ahead of receiver ring. Date and proof marks are on left side of receiver ring and barrel shank. Matching serial numbers may also appear on bottom of bolt stem, but not always. Numbers may appear on different places on FW Heyms, Hussars, Waffen Frankonias. Serial numbers 0-approximately 20,000, dates 50-62. My earliest is 0044, date 1950; latest 19003, date 1962. I have seen another 1962 numbered a little over 20K, a very late rifle. I seem to recall Alf has 0001, dated 1947. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS. Shoot & hunt with vintage classics.
