i got some info from here a bit ago about a USP that won't cock the hammer. it was originally not firing (light strikes), then i replaced the recoil (14#) and firing pin springs. the recoil is a bit brisk, use it for uspsa, would a 12# make it a bit smoother with reduced loads? and the hammer still doesn't always cock after the first shot. this sucks as it has a heavy trigger for each shot. thanks for any input, nated

Nate - I've seen this problem with several USPs - nearly all of them have been shooter induced. If you're gripping the pistol with a "high thumb" grip and resting the thumb even lightly on/against the safety, this can cause the decocking mechanism to trip during recoil. Check your thumb position, if this isn't the cause then you should probably send this pistol back to HK for warranty work...

Regards,

Kevin

thanks for the advice, will check it out. i don't think that's the problem, after 10k rounds i don't think that i've changed much, but i may, only recently started drawing from the holster. that may be it. thanks for the input though. nated
