How good are MacMillan stocks really?Have been thinking about ordering one for my Sako 75 but have heard quite alot of horror stories of people not being satisfied with the finishing or being returned with wrong barrel profiles etc. It's a shame that HS presision doesn't make a stock for the Sako 75 action.

I did special order my stock from McMillan and gave them all dimensions, LOF, barrel channel, weight, style, and recoil pad. Mine came as ordered. It was very easy to pillar bed and put a skim coat of bedding down. Butch

My group has over 100 stocks ordered and most from McMillan. We have yet to get a bad one. I think if it were wrong that they would be more than happy to replace it ASAP. square shooter

The only thing wrong with McMillan is that it takes 4 months! ------------------------------- Will / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. It has a shadowline cheekpiece and all! Come to think of it, the Borden Rimrock fiberglass isn't all that shabby either!

TR: I just recived a Sako Classic for a Howa 1500, from McMillan 1 montha ago, afther waiting 4 months. It takes a looong time. The stock itself is quite nice, and nice colouring. There is a small gap at the end of the bottom metal, about 1cm, wich is not perfect match, but, I dont look at it to often. I cant really complain about it, and after reading about them on the net, they are one of the best syntetic stocks on the market! Better then HS, wich has had some complaints about cracking in the handle. I could send you some photos if you have a e-mail? Or someone could post it here for me?

I have used a number of different synthetic stocks and have to say that McMillan is in a class by themselves. They a very good to deal with and make a great product. I have by far more McMillan stock than any other. Rimrock is also very good, but make the wait time of McMillan look like warp speed by comparison.

Fergus, You must have reversed the pictures because the bolt handle is on the wrong side!
