I have the same model and caliber rifle you two have. I tried to adjust the pull on my trigger down to the advertised 1 1/2 pounds of pull, but could not get it to go any lower than about 2 1/2 pounds of pull. That works fine for winter time hunting when I am wearing thick gloves, but I really wanted it a lot lighter for prairie dog shooting. Anyway, I went to the SavageShooters.com board and posted my dilema. The information I received over there was that if you want your trigger adjusted down to the minimum pull of 1 1/2 pounds, then you need to order it from the factory that way. That sounds rather lame, but then I didn't contact the company either, so I don't know if that's a fact or if it is fiction.

The Accutrigger on my ML10II will not adjust below five pounds! It's crisp enough and will be used in very cold weather anyway. When a better smokeless muzzleloader comes out this one will be traded. Otherwise it's reliable anyway.

Me and a friend just bought 2 new Savage VLP's with Accu-Triggers in 204 Ruger calibers. I checked the trigger weight set all the way down on the spring and it would only go as low as 2 pounds and 9 ounces. These are supposed to go down to 1 1/2 pounds. He is having to send his rifle back due to the holes in the receiver being drilled off at a slight angle so I took the spring out of his trigger and put it in mine to see if it would make a difference....and it did, his was 6 ounces HEAVIER. You could tell by looking at them before I put his in that his was wound tighter making me think it would be heavier. Anyone had these triggers that would not go down to the poundage they claimed it would? I called the factory to ask if they could send me another spring to try and they said they shipped none out under any circumstance that I would have to ship the rifle back to them. I thought that pretty much sucked seeing as they give you a diagram of a parts list if you were to need any not covered by warranty and have to pay for them and also giving instructions with the rifle showing how it is safe for "anybody" to adjust.
