Mini Mauser Bolt Question

Hi All,

I have a Charles Daly Mini Mauser and am getting ready to put it together in 6.5 Grendel BUT the more I look at it the less I like the bolt handle.

Is it me or is the bolt knob too small for the action? It seems that the action is not that "mini" except for the bolt handle and knob. Is there a decent sized replacement available? what should I expect to pay to replace the little bolt handle with a "real" one?

Thanks in advance,

Marcos (elalto)

I sure like mine as it's about the same as my Sako L-461

duikerman,

I have a couple of L461 Vixen actions and would be very happy to have that bolt handle, you must have an older Mini-Mauser. Did your action come from Charles Daly?

My Mini has a very small knob with a flat and checkered bottom.

I think if they were much larger they would be out of proportion. The stem is a little thin but overall just about right IMO.

I'm in the process of moving, but when I get my FFL transferred and shop setup I'll do more like this one for $225 each + shipping. This includes fitting the action to accept the new bolt.

Gotta go now and haul a load of my machines out West .....shaper, Hardinge mill, Southbend lathe & Household stuff that never ends. Smiler
