Clark, there are NO BLUE letters in your silly thread. But thanks for you kind concern regarding how I should spend my time. Unfortunately I work and that endeavor severely restricts my "computer play time"

Clark -

Thank you for your efforts in posting the previous Ruger No. 1 trigger threads. I've "Shanghied" the trigger installation link for my own website's use, as I did not find it "silly" but, to the contrary, very useful.

I have had Canjar single-set triggers in a couple of my Ruger #1's, and found them very nice triggers. Still with over 15 No 1's in the vault, only about half of which have the old triggers, replacing them all could become a financial project as well as a mechanical one <G>.

A goal to keep an old guy going another few years, I guess....

Best to ya,

Alberta Canuck

bowman, Dude,

Get a life. You can always work. AR is here, it's now, and it's fun. There is so much to do. My clinic is slow in the mornings in the summer so I log on to AR between patients (I'm more than caught up on my Continuing Medical Education [CME] so I don't feel the slightest bit guilty).

Here is a suggested approach to AR:

1. Read a couple Judge G posts to get in a relaxed frame of mind; much more effective than Zen meditation and much easier on your joints than Yoga.

2. Next read a post by John Ricks, or Bill Leeper, or Chic, or one of the other gunsmithing and stockmaking masters. They know their shit cold. It is like a graduate seminar in gun connoisseur-ship-ness.

3. Next go over to the Africa department and see what insights you can glean from Balla Balla, or Ganyana, or one of the other guys who have spent all, most, or much of their lives working in the field in Africa. After reading what they have to say you realize "I don't need no stinkin' National Geographic Channel."

4. For something completely different zip over to the Australia/NZ forum. I can't understand what they say because they don't speak English, but I think some of it must be funny (That is, if I understood what they were saying, but I don't because I only speak English).

5. For a good laugh I then check out what invective and bile people are dumping on Ass Clown, Judy, Hot Core, and some of our other resident trolls. What makes it funny is that I have my troll filter going 24/7 so I only see one side of the conversation. Actually it isn't a conversation because you can't converse with trolls because they never process what you are saying because they are too busy trying to think up something stupid to say to try and get a rise out of you.

Then, and only then do I consider doing any work.

I used to work all the time, and never played around on the computer. How stupid was that. I was crabby, and actually believed I was being virtuous. That was really stupid . Now I play whenever I get the chance. So long as my patients get good medical care, who gives a rats a** what I do with the rest of my time.

Any way, if you double click on those little linkie thingies there is a wealth of information about Ruger #1 triggers.

JCN

PS I haven't mowed the lawn in a month. Of course, since I didn't water it either it isn't too high yet.

PPS Is that "all work and no computer playing" a Lutheran sort of deal?

Hey Alberta,
I know what you can do with your old Ruger #1 triggers. Send them to Guantanamo Bay. If you make the terroristas pull on a stock Ruger trigger for twenty minutes a day for three days it will break the hardest case. They'll start chattering like Magpies to keep from having to do that. Of course, Amnesty international would start whining about that too.

Plato said something to the effect that men pursue one of three things: wisdom, money/power, or honor.

Earl Butz said black men just want:
1) loose shoes
2) xxx
3) zzz

Then Earl got fired.

I know this white man [me] wants:
1) more Ruger #1 rifles
2) a big bowl of snack food
3) a soft sofa
4) a TV playing a CD of "Rumble in the Jungle".

Some of us just did not get the call for:
1) Wisdom
2) money/power
3) honor

Or maybe we have all the wisdom, money/power, and honor we can use. Yeah, that's it. I've got all I can use of that. Now I need that sofa....
