I can't find any information on this pistol from my usual sources. It's marked EMC Santa Ana CA. Anyone know about these?

Thanks

Is it stainless?

This is a stretch, but I think EMC was associated with Vega. IIRC they primarily made frames and slides (kinda like Essex ) but don't take this as gospel!

A quick google shows that Brownells carries at least a 1911 hammer made by EMC, so you could get contact info from them at least.

Yes, it looks like stainless but I think the frame may be hard-chrome. I haven't disassembled it yet. I found that hammer at Brownells but didn't come up with anything else on it. None listed at any of the auction sites.
