dpcdIf you want stamps; call Buckeye Engraving; they are in Ohio, but you probably already know that. they will make any stamp from a picture or a description. If you want brass; call starline; they will make brass with your custom headstamp with a min quantity order, which I forget how many.

ab_bentley10,000 last I heard. I guess I can call Buckeye. I just wanted to check to see if there was a specific company making case head stamps.

jeffeossoThe tool is called a bunter and generally costs about 300 bucks.
www.470mbogo.com has a section on how Dave does it.
For a small number, a trophy shop with engraver would work

HomerOzG'Day Fella's,
We once had Starline Brass in the US, make us some Pistol Cases with a case head stamp, to commemorate a slimy gun grabbing politician down here in Australia!
We called it the .38 JWH !!!
Starline were happy to do both these tasks for us!
Hope that helps
Doh!

ted thornI suppose this "stamp" will have a primer pilot to hold center
You will also need inner and outer support of the case to minimize distortion
There will be scrap

dpcdBuckeye will make you that stamp; should be no scrap as it will be piloted or recessed to center the stamp. I have no stake in them, just use them a lot for custom work.

ted thornThe scrap will come from inadequate case support during stamping
