Mexican Mauser information needed
I see what looks to be a good action in Classifieds that I'll likely miss while I hem and haw. Could folks help me out with a little information about these as I may have a line on another...

1.I have heard that the 1910/1936's had a solid firing pin without the safety shoulder and were unsafe to carry with the pin down and loaded. Is this really a problem? Seems like you'd carry safety on all the time, cocking piece is just for looks.

2. Do they have a rep for being soft?

3. Are the 36 cocking pieces usuable on other 98's? Where are they available?

4. What was the issue bottom metal. I see both hinged and standard coupled with these actions.

Thanks so much as always for the information.

I have seen just the 36 cocking pieces alone go for $75.00 on Ebay. I believe that they will only fit the Mexican bolt, not a regular 98 bolt. Issue bottom metal is not hinged, or at least the ones I have seen were not hinged.
