"Drop Box" Magazine(?)

Howdy all! I've heard discussions about installing a "drop box" magazine on rifles to increase magazine capacity. What's involved in this process - I'm thinking about a Winchester M-70 classic stainless in 375 that I'd like to get a round or two more into...

Thanks in advance!

Kevin,
A drop box is basically new bottom metal, trigger guard and magazine box and it extends lower near the trigger guard and at the front. It generally requires some severe modifications to your stock. If you have a synthetic it could be glassed in and reshaped. A wood stock would require either the same or a new stock. Modifications to the wood would look like crap.

I don't know what caliber you are using it for but it generally is only used on dangerous game rifles, where that last shot might save your life.

The new bottom metal is also going to set you back about $375 or so.

Thanks all - sounds like a lot more work than I was looking to get into right now, it goes into the long term project box...
