what is the best general gun oil that will not attract a bunch of dirt??


in times when one needs a rifle, he tends to need it very badly.....PHC

If it goes on wet and the carrier doesn't flash off, then it will attract dirt. Dri-Slide, or, an aerosol type graphite based lube attracts less dirt.

I prefer one of the alcohol-base moly lubes. Paint it on, let the alcohol "flash off" as Malm suggests, and you are left with a very thin, dry coat of moly. Has worked very well on several of my rifles.

If you need something even slicker, some brands use the alochol-carried moly as a base coat, then have an additional powder coat of even finer moly which you "burnish" in after the base coat has dried.

Militec!!!! If you apply it like the directions say, the stuff is an awesome lube for dusy environments.
