GSP7Stock finish. Sikkens cetol
Anyone use Sikkens Cetol ?
Supposed to be good stuff for exterior wood .

Recoil RobTried it on the oak gunwales of my dory and the seats. It has a lot of solids in it that gave a "milky" look to the finish, obsured the grain.
I didn't like it at all, actually stripped the gunwales and did them with Deks Olje. I may try that on a stock some day.

GSP7Hmmm , Thats the opposite of what I experienced
I used it on a front door of a house where the old finish had seperated from the wood from water at the bottom of the door. I stripped and sanded the bottom half applyed the sikkens cetol and the wood and grain shows through brighter and clearer than the old finish . Its very clear and not milky at all. Now I have to strip the top part of the door to match

Recoil RobI just checked my old can, it's Cetol Marine Light. The drips on the can look like caramel.

GSP7Rob , My stuff isnt the marine . Its Shudder, window & door , something like that. It says high solids on the can too.

Recoil RobThat's the difference then, I thought all they made was marine grade.
I should spend more time on my house then my boat.
