I have a Winchester Model 1917 in 308 Norma Magnum and would like to rechamber it to 300 Pegasas.Could it be done?

Yes, I believe so. The bolt face will have to be opened, and the extractor, ejector, magazine, follower, and feed lips will have to be modified. Also to make this really work, you should have at least a 26" barrel and 28-30" would be better. That's a lot of case capacity. They make a humdinger of a long range cartridge/rifle combo though. - Dan
