I am looking to replace the factory plastic rib on my Rem 600 with a new metal one. The new rib is offered in steel and alum. Since for years it has had a plastic rib, a alum should hold up fine, but I recently pick up a rare Redfield scout scope mount that bolts partly to the receiver and to the rib and I was thinking the steel may be a better bet.
Any advise or suggestions?
