Thanks for the complement John...but my scrawny Marine "ass" ain't been on the line for my country for a very long time!

I have a son in the military but the last time I heard a shot fired in anger was over 35 years ago.

As far as the part is concerned I'm ordering two of them (so I have a spare) and I am going to see what it would cost to have them cast...and I'll send one to Irv for free!

Well, Irv old buddy...first off, ask the people of So. Korea (I know several) if they think that war was "lost."

Secondly, It was pretty obvious that none of the people responding to my question were looking for that particular part since most of them were not familiar with what it was. If I didn't own two Krags I certainly wouldn't know what the damned thing was. There is no similar part on any other rifle that I am aware of.

Lastly...if you think I'm a "user" then I guess you are welcome to that opinion. Others on here who know better could argue that point...but why bother.

If you have a dimensioned drawing of one I'd be more than happy to give it a try. Either email me or post it here and let me know. It's the least I could considering you help and generosity concerning the P17 bolt.

Chic,

I've tried EVERY place!!!

I've tried Numrich, Sarco, Popperts, Northridge, the Krag Collectors Association, every parts link listed on the Collectors association web site...Nothing.

Sounds like it might be something that you could make some money selling if you could find a good source to have them made.

The pin itself, like I said, is not a problem, its just a straight pin...it's the damned head piece for it that's a bitch. It ain't all that complicated but it would take more than my machining ability to duplicate.

I'm sure someone who is slick on a milling machine could pop one out in an afternoon...but I ain't that slick.
