Gents. Ive noticed the bolt on my new rifle sticks a tad when nearly fully withdrawn. It seems to me to be a poor fit (slack). The bolt diameter is 16.05mm, kind of difficult to measure the inside shape of the receiver, but there is considerable play when its full back. Before I return it to the shop have you any suggestions. There are sliding marks starting to appear on the bolt circumference and my first though as an engineer, is to lubricate. Is there a lubricant that can be used sparingly. Its out of the box btw. Thanks jc

JC, As you suggest, lubrication will probably help. I use copious amounts of JB Bore Compound slathered on when polishing mating parts. Seems that 50 - 100 or so bolt manipulations make all well with the world. If JB is not available in Scotland, some similar product may exist. I suggest a fine -500grit or finer- lapping compound as a substitute. Here in the Pacific Northwest there are many occasions to hunt in frozen conditions and, as you well know, most lubes and cold temps are not a good mix. Luck, Stephen
