I have a Ruger 77/17 varmit model that I want to glass bed - it shoots a great group followed by a marginal followed by a good one - just is not consistent. Given that the barrel is connected to the action with two screws thru a lug on bottom of barrel like the 10/22, should I judst glass bed the barrel or both the barrel and the action or just the action? My 10/22 shot like crap until i put some glass bedding at the tip for the barrel to lay up solid against. Guess I am just wondering what people would suggest for the 77/17.

bed the action, all you really need is a couple of points, tank and lug. float the barrel. then if it doesn't shoot right work on barrel pressure. 1 step at a time. i think you'll find out bedding the action will solve the problem
