Does anyone know the interior length of a 7mmSTW Winchester Classic Model 70 CRF magazine box and the resulting maximum recommended COL length for cartridges to be used. Thanks!

3.640" and I would recommend 3.630" as a maximum OAL. The 8mm has a SAMMI MOAL of 3.600".

I wonder..........has anyone ever tried , or managed to fit a magazine box longer than the 3.6 inch one into a M-70 ??........say 3.7 or 3.75..........??

I am fairly sure you can open the boxes up to 3.850 as I have seen it done, but I believe they purchased a box like that from Blackburn...I have seen a Mod.98 Mauser and a pre 64 M-70 in 416 Rigby in fact the Mauser was made by Rigby and is owned by Paul Zorn, a PH in Zimbabwe...
