Guys, I just can't pass these up when they come along at reasonable prices. I've got a 375 barrel, Grisel drop magazine and a nice Turkish blank for this one, if I can get around to her:

Gringo Cazadorhey forest, if you can't get around to it, send it my way...........lol.
I can't for the life of me figure out why you would want to put many in an old gun like that when you could buy you a new Remington or something like that..........lol.

fla3006Thanks fellows. It was hiding in plain sight on auctionarms, $264 won it, not a steal but not too bad for an Oberndorf banner Mauser (1935 Brazil contract). Finding them nowdays is the hard part.

ShopCartRacingNicely done.
A sporterized banner Mauser came in a couple months ago and the tolerances were almost too tight to where there was a bit of friction where the bolt first entered the front ring.
These actions were IMHO some of the best Mausers ever produced. Whenever you have great tooling and a suitable amount of time available (i.e. not wartime) you can make some very nice rifles.
I say make it into something traditional for the time such as the 7X57 or something of that sort.
Good luck.

fla3006Naw Jeffe, has to be another 375. I've already got the barrel, magazine and another bolt with the proper face, plus it's hard to beat the 375 H&H for an all-around gun.

SCR there is a good chance that the receiver ring was "pinched" out of round by the action wrench being over tightened. Another reason i prefer inside action wrenches. FWIW.

The original barrel was still on it IIRC.
I know the problem you are talking of and this was not it. Just very very well made.

Flaco,
that's a rather obsecure reference to artillery men, isn't it? I assume from this that you think a 375 is a field piece!!
