Dressels has a strong reputation as straight shooters. If I had a question of one of their products I'd ask them directly, and not ask here on the internet. I've only bought one blank from them as I usually pick them up at gun shows....but wouldn't hesitate to buy from them if I needed wood and didn't want to play the gunshow game! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Oh, Don't get me wrong I actually did purchase a blank from them this morning. My question is more about wood classification, etc... As far as I know Circassian walnut comes from Georgia, Turkey. I see that Bulgaria. I guess that am a little lost just??????

Siam, It gets a little murky because the term "circassian" has become a sort of generic term. Something like Kleenex, coke... True Circassian (or better still the wood that gave birth to the term Circassian) comes from the Cuacuses Mountains and close regions to those mountains. In the end it is all soft shelled walnut-juglans regia. That Bulgarian wood the Dressels is selling is good stuff and the blanks i have seen are hard wood, nice color too. All juglans regia is good wood and even the low grades make nice stocks.
