There are many thousands of these shotguns and rifles floating around. The most common problem I see in our shop is "snapping". IE not indenting the primer enough to fire the round. The underlying cause is almost always due to bad timing between the lifter/connector and hammer by way of the trigger extension. The solution is to assemble the components out-side the receiver on the right side using the assembly pins. Then you can see the interaction of components. Most often the forward "nose" of the trigger extension needs to be built up with weld or by silver soldering shim material. This keeps the lifter up high enough to allow the hammer to transfer enough energy to the firing pin. Of course make sure FP is free and hammer spring is strong enough. Sometimes you will see wear on the lifter or firing pin at contact points which will affect FP impact. Many of these arms will arrive with ground hammer stops, ground trigger extensions, and buggered sear surfaces so be wary.

Or you can do what I do; tell them that it will cost more to fix it than it is worth so throw that one in the trash and buy a new one.

Yep, cheap consumer level stuff at the end of it's lifespan isn't worth resuscitating. Let it die a dignified death with the cutting torch. The Chinese always need rebar.

Bobster: Hell of a deal, that's exactly what I came up with on my own. Silver solder a piece of tin on the hammer face. Works on Blackhawks with the same problem too. George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. Dwight
