My farther gave me his 3006 760 yesterday,
and i would like too know how old it is?
He bought it new with 2 boxes of ammo and still
has 10 rounds left and all the spent brass.It still looks new,100% blueing 100%wood no scratches
can tell me were to look? i all ready tryed remington.com

The started making the 760 back in the 40's or early 50's, through the 80's. Would need to look at it to estimate date of mfr.

Remington began producing the mod 760 in 1952. There is a letter code stamped on the left side of the barrel just ahead of the receiver that shows the month and year of manufacture. Usually there are two letters, however, some of the early years had 3 - usually a single followed by a double - for example "L EE".

I don't check in here all that often, but if you e-mail me the letters on your gun, I can look up the year in my Blue Book.
