I just bought a beautiful old humpbacked Browning 12 bore in it's original case with two barrels and all accessories and the original manual. An extract from the manual reads:

5. DO NOT PUT A 20 GAUGE SHELL IN YOUR 12 GAUGE GUN if you value your gun and yourself. roflmao

I do wish the good old days didn't end.

Good hunting, gentlemen! beer

I think most of who have been around the block do as well!

A simple precautionary statement back then... Today we even have 20 gauge shells colored yellow! A real "veteran" will remember 20's of red, green, blue, and maroon hue.

A hunting buddy of five decades stated just a while back, "My goodness, it's a wonder we ever lived to this age without all these warnings around when we were younger!"

I had to agree.........

You're making me sick. I just bought my first A5, a 20 gauge, and I love it. It's not as nice as that one, but it's one heck of a nice shooter. They really are super guns, and I'd love to have a really super one like that. A5's are one of those guns that are as nice to look at as they are to shoot.

Thanks, everyone for the good words. The gun is as good as new - and I got it at a more than fair price from it's owner, a private FFL dealer in Wisconsin. It was nice getting the gun, the fact that I got it from a gentleman made it better.

I still can't get over the product warning and chuckle whenever I think about it. Big Grin I also wish that the times were as simple and uncomplicated as they were when I was a boy - since that is certain not to happen, I guess I must amuse myself with the lovely old manual.

Good hunting!
