To all dealers or smiths with FFL's, I just sent off my application and was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it takes for the ATF or approve or deny my FFL? Thanks for your time! Good Shooting!!! 50

I believe they have 90 days to accept or deny. It will depend on their workload, I am sure.

It took about four months from the time I sent it in until I finally had it. They sent an ATF agent out to my place to interview me and look around, after he left I had it in a couple of weeks.

I had mine in about 6 weeks. The inspector came out, we talked went over a few details on the forms and I had my license 10 days later. She was very nice the whole meeting was very informal.

the feds want to see that your are "engaged" in the buisness....ie, that guns come in and go out....that you have proper records for showing who gave you what and where it went...and if the proper steps were taken....as far as buisness rules...that depends upon you municipality, but the feds want to know that it is in fact legal to do buisness where you are....if 50% of the guns coming in are sold to yourself...there better be alot of transactions!!!!!!!!three for you and three for others wont hack it.....bob
