Eliminating the Remington J-lock?

I happened to find a new Remington 700 ADL, synthetic, matte black, at a local sport shop tonight afterwork. It is a carryover with the J-Lock. Price was reasonable so I picked it up.
I want to replace the J-Lock bolt shroud and firing pin assembly. Where can I get one that will match the factory matte black finish ?

Thanks

Eric,

that question was asked and answered about a week ago on here. Do a search or just scroll to it.

Bottom line, Brownell’s sells several brands including Remington assemblies.

Eric,

Unless you have the tools/jigs it is much easier (and cheaper) to by a complete, pre-assembled unit rather than the individual parts. The complete units are drop-ins that only require basic field stripping of the bolt.

I bought the "piercision" unit which was all assembled and ready to screw on with new firing pin, new shroud, and stronger spring. Twist the old one off, and twist the new one on. beer
