All,

I am looking for a photo, specifically a close up of the rear leaf type/express sight from the top (dorsal) view on a .375H&H. My rifle has been away for almost 2 years on projects and storage and I need to reference an original.

Many thanks in advance! I've got a full report on my rifle project coming soon.

Ann,

Only ones I had loaded. I'm not sure of the view you are after.

As usual just my $.02

Hey, that's my Whitworth, in my study, on my mountain zebra, that's about 2 feet away as I type this. Isn't that amazing. Bob

Even bigger pic.

Edit -- this is a .458 but I do not think that matters. I believe some sights were sweated on but mine are screwed.

Yep. I look at that picture all the time. Hope you don't mind. It is such a pretty example. Hoping that my stock will look like that when it grows up.

Vapodog I no longer have the picture that Bob emailed me. Only the one on photobucket. There is not enough data on it to blow up.
If that is what she need if Bob resends it to Ramrod340@hotmail.com I can try and zoom in. If not I can take the same picture on mine in the morning.

What a great time for this request to appear. Not 15 minuutes ago I ordered this same rifle in .375 H&H and it is missing the express sight. Do any of you fine folks know a source for a replacement?

It's also interesting that so many of the forum members are from Texas. I'm a Texas expat exiled to the Socialist Republic of Maryland.

Thanks for any assistance.

Sarco sells a set that reportedly are the same as the Whitworth sights. I have not seen them, but someone posted a picture here not long ago.

Edit:

Here is the thread. Looks like you will have to ask the poster for the pictures or get them from Sarco as it looks like he has removed the pictures.

Jeff's Outfitters sells the exact Whitworth sights, at least up to a few months ago. The Reckenagles by NECG are leaf sights, but different than the Whitworth sights. If you need an exact replacement, then I would start by calling Jeff.
