Opinions on boresight options for receiver sight

I have several rifles from .22 to .416 cal, as well as two 9 mm pistols. Having sighted two new scopes recently, I am more than ready for a bore sighting system! I'd like it to work for the pistols, too.

However....my main hunting rifle is a Model 95 Winchester lever with a receiver sight and 3 swappable barrels (270, 30-06 and 375 H/S). I need whatever boresighter system I buy to work when I switch barrels, so I can tweak the receiver sight.

Some of the lasers I've seen sit high above the crown and block the front bead. I am guessing the in-chamber models will be a problem for the 375 barrel. Even so, I am hoping to find a simple solution as I want it to travel with me for field use.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any ideas and opinions would be appreciated.

For scopes the Leupold magnetic is the best you can get.

You can also get the laser cartridges that will work with either scopes or open sights.

I use the cheap Laser from Cabelas that you use different nylon bore pieces and insert in muzzle it will handle anything from 22 to 416 (haven't tried it on 470) Clears irons easily as it's hardly larger than the muzzle. Mines marked Cabela but made by LaserLyte. I carried it to Zim the last couple of times and after sundown it's good for a 100yd check. I've found mine to be handy AND accurate. Haven't used on handguns but see no reason it wouldn't work as easily .

Casting aside implied warranty issues, if this is possible, what sort of ammo is recommended? This can be a loading matter which requires a lot of experimentation.

Also a light barrel is likely to be whippy and all generally more accurate guns tend to be set up for heavy barrels and relatively "ordinary" loadings.

Check up on 7mm, various .30 magnums, and long range competitors. And do explain what problems you're having to Weatherby.
