I read a post some where that the Belguim made ones with the FN action with the long extractors where the better ones. Could someone tell me the reason for this? [Confused]

Beware the Belgium Browning Safari grade rifle. they are very nice, and accurate, but some have the saltwood stock. The only thing that stopped mine from rusting was a chrome job by SSK.

Yeah, stay away from the salt guns. They're easy to avoid though,if you know what you're looking for.

Browning went to the pushfeed (short extractor)Mauser action in 1967 in all large action chamberings EXSEPT the 30/06 and 270,which retained the long extractor (don't ask me why).

The long extractor in any other caliber makes it worth more, simply because there were fewer made than those with short extractors.

As far as a practical standpoint, there isn't a lick of difference between the two UNLESS you're hung up on controlled round feeding.
