Major Caliber7.69x39 on a Mauser?
Anybody built one? I have a 1910 Mexican I bought from Century years ago, it's in a Bishop stock with a 22" barrel in 7.62x39, very sweet shooting gun. I was thinking about ordering the 7.62x39 barrel from Numrich, to build one on a M98 large ring I have. That $66 per thousand for Wolf HP ammo is hard to pass up.

Pete Etake a look at the CZ527..a very neat little rifle available in 7.62x39..Not sure if it is a classic mauser or not though......

CraftsmanI have built two 7.62 X 39 98 Mausers. I had to machine a bushing or spacer and low temp soldered it accross from the extractor to compensate for the smallet diameter case. I spent the most time on it getting it to feed. They are pretty accurate and you get velocities in the 2700 fps range due to the 22 inch barrel versus the 16 inch barrel in the AK 47's.

EterryCraftsman, you beat me to the punch. I was going to say that I knew a man that built two of them, but alas, you got the jump on me.
Good luck and good shooting
